The following topics were discussed at the regular meeting of the board of supervisors held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, beginning at 7PM.  Official minutes of this board meeting have not yet been approved.

Township officers attending the meeting were Brad Kelly, David Williams, David Larson and Charles Olson.  Supervisor Gerald Peter did not attend the meeting.  Conrad Obieglo, township road maintenance engineer, attended the meeting.  Brad Kelly, township vice-president, called the meeting to order and led the discussion.

Topics Discussed

Treasurer's Report

Chuck Olson, treasurer, reported that the township checking account balance at Rushford State Bank was $93,891.95 as of December 31, 2009, after the payment of all December bills. Olson stated that $4,433.98 was expended by the township during December.  Olson also noted that during December, the township received $35,048.04 in property tax revenue and $4,262.68 in state funding.

Outstanding Bills

The township board reviewed bills received by David Larson since the December meeting. The total amount of outstanding bills, excluding current wages, was $7,509.94.  All outstanding bills were approved for payment.

Drake Road Cartway Maintenance

Township Board 2010 Meeting Schedule

The township board reviewed a proposed schedule for all regular township meetings to be held during 2010.

2010 Budget Preparation

David Williams and David Larson reported they are underway with preparation of the township budget for this year, and will distribute copies of the proposed budget before the February township board meeting.

2010 Mileage Reimbursement

David Williams reported that the US Internal Revenue Service reduced the standard mileage reimbursement rate to $.50 per mile for the year beginning January 1, 2010.  Since Preble Township traditionally adopts the IRS mileage reimbursement guidelines, the township board approved a resolution adopting the new IRS standard mileage reimbursement rate of $.50 per mile for business-related mileage reimbursement.
